Free Parking Offered at Medical District Parking Ramp During Construction
[Duluth, MN] - Starting Monday, April 18, 2011, the City of Duluth will be offering FREE parking from 5:00 pm until 2:00 am at the Medical District Parking Ramp on East First Street. Free parking is being offered while the City constructs a sanitary sewer diversion structure near 3rd Ave East and Superior Street to prevent sewage overflows as part of a mandatory consent decree with the Environmental Protection Agency.
“We’re pleased the city worked in partnership with the businesses to provide easy access to nearby parking, as well as offer a free incentive for the evening hours. We want our customers to know, that despite the construction in front of their doors, it’s business as usual inside their doors,” said Kristi Stokes, President of the Greater Downtown Council.
An attendant will be available during regular business hours to provide assistance. There will also be signs posted to inform motorists of the free parking. Patrons of the area businesses are encouraged to use the parking ramp during the construction project.
