Glenwood Street construction to commence
May 13
[Duluth, MN] - A major project under the City of Duluth’s Street Improvement Program to improve up to 100 miles of roads over 5 years will commence Friday, May 13, 2011. Glenwood Street in the Lakeside neighborhood will undergo the next phase of full reconstruction as work crews start removing pavement at 52nd Ave East and work their way west to 43rd Avenue East. The project started last year at 60th Ave East and moved west to 52nd Ave. The Glenwood Street project will be completed in October of 2011.
The contractor will work to keep access to residential properties as much as possible throughout the project. Motorists are encouraged to follow detour routes.
Weekly progress meetings will be held at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at the corner of Glenwood Street and 51st Avenue East. Representatives from Wagner Construction, Salo Engineering, and the City of Duluth will be on hand to discuss the progress of construction and plans for the coming weeks. Residents are invited to attend the meetings to stay informed or to ask any questions. The first meeting this year will be held on May 17, 2011.
