NATURE OF INCIDENT: Lakewalk Graffiti
CASE NO.: 11082464
INCIDENT DATE: 5/18/2011
INCIDENT TIME: 4:00 AM
INCIDENT LOCATION: Duluth's lakewalk
On Wednesday May 18th, 2011 at 10:29 AM Duluth Police were called to the lakewalk due to a large amount of graffiti that was spray painted in several places along the lakewalk stretching from behind Canal Park Lodge up to the Fitger’s Complex.
Duluth Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in images captured from a surveillance camera at approximately 4:00AM that morning. The suspect is seen walking on the paved path of the lakewalk from near the Vietnam Veterans Memorial towards the AerialLiftBridge. The video shows the suspect damaging the path near the construction area of the storm water basin.
The suspect has a single strap bag over his shoulder and is wearing an “Indiana Jones” styled hat and he may be a smoker.
City crews have completed nearly two full days of clean up at a cost approaching $8,000.00, when their time could have been used for other projects.
Anyone with information about this senseless act of vandalism is asked to contact the Duluth Police Department Patrol Supervisor at 218-730-5150.
