The 39th Duluth D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Graduation will take place at 6:00pm Tuesday, May 24th 2011, at the DECC Auditorium. More than 400 fifth and sixth grade students from Duluth Public, Parochial and Edison schools will be graduating from the D.A.R.E. program.
Honored guests at the graduation include City of Duluth Mayor Don Ness, Duluth Chief of Police Chief Gordon Ramsay, Former Duluth Deputy Police Chief John Beyer, Director of School Operations Bill Gronseth, and Head of School/Edison Charter Schools Bonnie Jorgenson.
Some of the topics covered in the D.A.R.E. Program include; the harmful effects of illegal drugs, drug resistance techniques, peer pressure, how to deal with and report bullying; and internet safety.
