SUBJECT: City and Police Union Reach Tentative Agreement

The City of Duluth and the Police Union Executive Board have reached a tentative one-year labor agreement for 2011.
The membership will meet to discuss the tentative agreement next week, and a vote to ratify the agreement will be held by mid-June.
Chief Administrative Officer David Montgomery stated, “Negotiations were respectful and issue-focused from start to finish. Considering the uncertainty at the state level, including Local Government Aid funding, this is a positive agreement for both parties."
Police Union President Tom Maida stated, “Both teams worked diligently through complicated issues during the negotiation process. Our agreement acknowledges the unusual economic times we live in and the fiscal uncertainty facing the City of Duluth.”
