SUBJECT: Two juvenile males arrested for Prowling Vehicles

INCIDENT LOCATION: 1300 block of East 9th Street
On Friday June 10th, 2011 at 1:18AM Duluth Police officers were called to the 1300 block of East 9th Street, a witness saw a vehicle being entered by an unknown male. The witness then reported seeing two male suspects running from that area with backpacks.
Several officers arrived a few minutes later and a K-9 tracked one of the suspects, locating him a short distance away. The second suspect was located by officers hiding under a porch. Both suspects were in possession of stolen property. Officers found the suspects had entered at least three vehicles in the area.
The suspects were juvenile males, ages 16 and 17 and both residents of Duluth. They were arrested on three counts of Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of Burglary Tools and lodged at the Arrowhead Juvenile Center.
