Bridge work at 27th Ave West starts June 28
 
[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Engineering division has announced that the 27th Avenue West bridge, that crosses over the railroad tracks leading into the Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD) facilities, will be converted to a one lane, two way signal controlled passage beginning Tuesday, June 28th. 2011. The closure is necessary for crews to work on the bridge deck that is aging and in need of replacement. Crews will start work on the closed lane of the bridge before alternating to the other side.  
 
Northbound trucks on I-35 exiting at the 27th Ave West off ramp will not be permitted to make a right turn into WLSSD due to restricted clearances, though left turns are permitted. The restrictions only apply to trucks. The bridge is expected to remain a one lane route until the end of September.   
 
Motorists are requested to drive with caution in the work area.
