Public meeting scheduled to discuss street project in Hunter’s Park neighborhood

[Duluth, MN] - Street reconstruction in the Hunter’s Park neighborhood is being planned as part of the 2012 Street Improvement Program (SIP). The City of Duluth is hosting a public meeting on the upcoming project which includes reconstruction of the utilities and streets along Oxford Street, Livingston Avenue and an upper portion of Glenwood Street, stretching from Woodland Avenue to Jean Duluth Road.

The public meeting will be held at the Lakeview Covenant Church (1001 Jean Duluth Road) on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 6:30 PM. A short presentation will be followed by small group discussions. Discussions will be limited to the roadway section and features. Ideas and input will be gathered for maintaining and improving this route for all users that already includes a bike route and bus route.

The project is scheduled for construction in the summer of 2012. This project will be funded by local utility funds, State Aid funds and by special assessments to benefited properties.

Questions or comments can be submitted by email or phone by July 29, 2011 to Greg Stoewer, Project Engineer, at gstoewer@duluthmn.gov or (218) 730-5200.
