Glenwood Street at 47th Ave East to close for utility work

 


[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth will be closing the intersection of 47th Avenue East and Glenwood Street, starting tomorrow, August 12, 2011 until approximately October 15, 2011. The closure is necessary for crews reconstruct the underground utilities in the intersection. This work is part of the Glenwood Street reconstruction project. 
Glenwood Street is a major component of the Mayor’s Street Improvement Program to repair up to 100 miles of roads over 5 years. This year alone, the city will be improving 25 miles of Duluth streets in addition to filling every pothole and crack sealing 60 miles of roads.

Motorists are advised to continue using the posted detours (43rd Avenue East, Superior Street, and 60th Avenue East).
