SUBJECT: Juvenile Male Arrested for 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery & 2nd Degree Assault

INCIDENT LOCATION: 100 block South 57th Avenue West (alley)

 

 On Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011 at 8:28PM Duluth Police responded to the call of a possible robbery that just occurred in the alley of the 100 block of South 57th Avenue West.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim, who was working for Erberts & Gerberts, was making a delivery when a young male approached him and showed him a gun and demanded money. The victim refused to give him any money and the suspect ran eastbound. A short time later a caller saw a male, matching the description of the suspect, running towards Super One grocery store at 5800 Bristol Street. Officers set up a perimeter and began evacuating the store, while doing so they observe the suspect running inside of the store and he is taken into custody.

The suspect is identified as Drew Sazma, a 17 year old, male resident of Duluth. Sazma was transported to the Arrowhead Juvenile Center pending formal charges of 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery and 2nd Degree Assault.
