On Saturday August 27th, 2011 at 7:13PM Duluth Police were called to the Walgreen’s store at 1301 E. Superior Street on the report of an armed robbery that just occurred.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a suspect went to the pharmacy section of the store and demanded pills and showed the pharmacist a handgun. The suspect was described as a balding white male in his mid 30’s.
A short time later Duluth Police were called to the 1300 block of East First Street to a vehicle theft. The suspect pointed a handgun at the vehicle owner and demanded the keys to his vehicle. The suspect then left westbound on First Street in the stolen 2002 silver Infiniti bearing MN license plates NJK-587. The vehicle had a new set of license plates on the front seat, which are MN 582-GJX. The suspect in the vehicle theft matched the description of the suspect in the armed robbery.
The Duluth Police Department is requesting anyone that has seen, or knows the identity of the suspect in the image taken from the surveillance camera in the Walgreen’s store, to call 911.
Duluth Police cautions anyone who may see the suspect or the stolen 2002 Infiniti to not make any contact and to call 911 immediately. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. The investigation is continuing. No further information is available at this time.
