Water main under repair at Glenwood St and 44th Ave

 

[Duluth, MN] - The City of Duluth Engineers and Utility Operations divisions identified a water main break today at the intersection of Glenwood Street and 44th Ave East in the Lakeside neighborhood impacting a 60 block area east of 40th Ave and north of Superior Street up to Glenwood Street. The watermain break occurred around 3:00 pm and crews are on site attempting to reach the broken pipe to expedite repairs. Water service has been suspended. The pipe had been scheduled for replacement in the next few days as part of the Glenwood Street reconstruction project.

The break was caused due to an aging watermain. Crews are estimating repairs will be completed in the next one to two hours at which point water service will resume.
