INCIDENT LOCATION: Railroad Street/Garfield Avenue
On Saturday, Sept 10th, 2011, the Momentum 5k series races will be held in the Railroad Street / Garfield Ave area. The Event starts at 8:45a.m. with a kid’s ¼ mile race, then following with a 1 mile walk at 9:00a.m., and a 5K run at 9:30 a.m. The event should be finished by approximately 11:30 a.m.
Railroad Street will be closed to traffic between Harbor Drive and Garfield Avenue, and there will be lane closures on Garfield Avenue until approximately 11:30 a.m.
Traffic will be allowed West on Railroad Street only from the Lake Avenue viaduct to Harbor Drive. The North DECC Lot entrance will be closed, but vehicles may enter the lot using the East Gate by the William Irvin, and may exit via Ramp and 5th Ave W exit gates. No traffic will be allowed West Harbor Drive until the end of the event.
Police Officers and Police Reserves will be diverting traffic and closing some driving lanes. Drivers are urged to use caution when driving the area of the event.
