SUBJECT: Duluth Man Arrested for 1st Degree Burlgary

NATURE OF INCIDENT: Burglary Arrest

INCIDENT TIME: 9:43AM
INCIDENT LOCATION: 500 block Commonwealth Avenue

On Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011 at 9:43 AM Duluth Police were called to the 500 block of Commonwealth Avenue on the report of an unwanted person in a residence.  

A male later identified as James Troy Johnson, a 45 year old male, resident of Duluth had entered his ex-girlfriends apartment while she was at work. After Johnson entered he threw a female who was watching the apartment against a wall and then started throwing things around. She was able to flee the apartment and called 911.
 
Officers arrived and located Johnson a short distance away and he was taken into custody after a short struggle with officers.   A witness saw Johnson in possession of electronic equipment that was just stolen from the apartment.
 
Johnson was transported to the Saint Louis County Jail and booked for 1st Degree Burglary, Possession of a Syringe, Obstructing Legal Process and 5th Degree Assault and a Department of Corrections warrant for 1st Degree Burglary.
