Traffic Advisory - School is Open;
Duluth's Edison Schools started this past Monday, August 30, and the public schools will start Thursday, September 9. The Duluth Police Department would like to remind drivers to use caution when driving in the vicinity of schools and by busses, especially in detour and construction areas.
The police department will be stepping up enforcement in school areas to remind drivers to slow down. Speeding fines are double in school zones.
Watch out for the safety of the “crossing guards” who are helping elementary students cross to and from school, and please be prepared to stop for them.
Watch for the flashing lights of school busses and be prepared to stop from all directions when those lights turn to red.
Keep our children safe as they start this new school year.
