INCIDENT LOCATION: 800 block of West 3rd Street
On Sunday November 20th, 2011 at 2:14 AM, Duluth Police were called to the 800 block of West 3rd Street to the report of two males possibly prowling garages in the area.
Officers located and stopped two males on foot in the area that matched the description of the suspects. Both suspects said they were homeless and were looking for a garage or car to sleep in to get out of the cold. One of the suspects then changed his original story and admitted taking money from some vehicles. Officers found fresh tracks in the snow that matched the suspect’s footwear, these tracks led up to several vehicles in the area.
A 17 year old juvenile male, resident of Superior, WI was arrested and issued a citation for Motor Vehicle Tampering. The second suspect was identified as Christopher Erickson, a 26 year old male resident of Duluth. Erickson is currently at the Saint Louis County Jail pending formal charges for Gross Misdemeanor False Name to Police and Motor Vehicle Tampering.
