SUBJECT: Duluth Man Arrested for 1st Degree Arson

INCIDENT LOCATION: 10 block of East Eigth Street
On Friday, December 16th, 2011, at 00:39 AM the Duluth Police Department and Duluth Fire Department responded to the 10 block of E.8th Street for the a report of the front steps of a residence on fire. The caller reported seeing a male walk up to the front of the house carrying a container full of a flammable liquid, pour it onto the front steps, ignite it and then run away. The fire was put out and no one was injured.
Initial investigation and surveillance video was used to help identify the suspect, Adam Seavey, a 34 year old male, resident of Duluth. Later that morning a Duluth police officer and Arson Investigator located and interviewed Seavey.
Seavey has been formally charged with 1st Degree Arson and is being held at the Saint Louis County Jail. Anyone with information about this fire is asked to contact Duluth Police Arson Investigator Todd Kuusisto at (218) 730-5709.
