INCIDENT LOCATION: South Arlington Avenue near Observation Road
On Monday, January 23rd, 2012 at 8:37AM the Duluth Police Department responded to a single motor vehicle rollover accident on South Arlington Avenue, approximately a ½ mile north of Observation Road.
A Duluth Police Officer arrived on scene and activated the squads emergency lights and went down to the over turned Ford Bronco. Behind the Bronco there was a Ford Taurus that had also already slid into the ditch. The officer was near the Bronco talking with the drivers when a Buick LeSabre, southbound on South Arlington Avenue lost control on the icy road and hit the rear of the squad car causing major damage. The LeSabre bounced off the squad car and slid into the ditch and struck the Ford Taurus.
South Arlington Avenue was icy due to the recent snow and temperatures. All drivers involved were wearing their seatbelts and no one was injured in the accidents.
