NATURE OF INCIDENT: Two Arrested for Felony Possession of Stolen Property

INCIDENT LOCATION: Mont-Du-Lac Recreation, 3125 Mont-Du-Lac Drive, Superior Wisconsin

On Monday, February 6th, 2012 at 4:05AM Duluth Police observed a white Chevrolet Cavalier at 102nd Avenue West and Gary Street traveling at a high rate of speed. As the patrol squad attempted to catch up to the vehicle it turned up 108th Avenue West near House Street, where 108th Avenue West comes to a dead-end. Officers found the vehicle abandoned there, still running with the driver’s door open and a duffel bag on the ground.  Officers could hear brush breaking in the distance as the suspect(s) ran off.  

A Duluth Police Canine Unit responded and along with officers tracked the suspects for nearly an hour over a distance of approximately 2 miles. They located a male and female suspect and took them into custody at the Munger Trail, mile marker 141. They were identified as Brian Bailey, a 47 year old male, resident of Duluth and Robynne Sloan, a 23 year old female, resident of Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin.
 
Duluth Police officers located stolen property from a burglary at Mont-Du-Lac Recreation, 3125 Mont-Du-Lac Drive, Superior, Wisconsin, along with stolen items from a car prowl in Superior, Wisconsin. 
 
Brian Bailey is currently on probation and has convictions for:
 
  • 3rd Degree Burglary in 2002
  • 2nd Degree Burglary in 2008
  • Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance in 2011 
Robynne Sloan had two active Theft Warrants and a 2011 conviction for Gross Misdemeanor False Name to Police.
 
The suspects were lodged at the Saint Louis County Jail pending formal charges of Felony Possession of Stolen Property and Theft from a Motor Vehicle.
