SUBJECT: Male in Custody for 2nd Degree Assault, Terroristic Threats

NATURE OF INCIDENT: Duluth Man Arrested for 2nd Degree Assault, Terroristic Threats

INCIDENT LOCATION: 200 block of West Superior Street
On Friday March 16th, 2012 at 8:10PM Duluth Police were called to the report of a stabbing in the 200 block of West Superior Street and the suspect was being chased on foot.
Initial investigation revealed that a 19 year old male victim and the suspect had an argument. The suspect pulled out a blade and cut the victim’s chest. Several witnesses got into a fight with the suspect before he ran off.
A short time later, Duluth Police officers locate and take the suspect into custody at the rear of a business in the 300 block of South Lake Avenue. The suspect was identified as a Justin Cutbank, a 26 year old, male resident of Duluth. He had a minor injury from just jumping a fence and was first transported to St. Mary’s hospital where he was treated for his non-life threatening injury. He was then transported to the Saint Louis County Jail and booked for 2nd Degree Assault, Terroristic Threats, Gross Misdemeanor False Information to Police and several other unrelated Felony Warrants.
The victim initially refused medical attention from emergency medical personnel, but was later transported by a Duluth Police Investigator to St. Mary’s hospital to have his minor, non-life threatening injury treated.
