Duluth Police Investigate Stabbing
Duluth Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in the 300 block of East 6th Street on Tuesday night.
On Tuesday, September 10, 2009, at 7:17 PM, Duluth Police officers were called to 4th Avenue East and 6th Street on a call from a male who said he had been stabbed in the chest with a knife and that the male who had stabbed him was still nearby. The victim gave the description and location of the male suspect.
Officers were quick to arrive in the area and located both the suspect and the victim. Officers also recovered a knife believed to have been used in the stabbing.
The victim, age 47 of Duluth, was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital for a non life threatening stab wound to the left side of his chest. The male suspect, age 64 and also of Duluth, was transported to Duluth Police Headquarters and then to the St. Louis County Jail where he is being held pending criminal charges.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Duluth Police Department and has been referred to the Department’s Violent Crime Unit. No other information is available at this time.
