NATURE OF INCIDENT: Male Arrested for 2nd Degree Assault

INCIDENT TIME: 1:56PM
INCIDENT LOCATION: 300 block of North 2nd Avenue West

On Wednesday, March 28th, 2012 at 1:56PM Duluth Police were called to the 300 block of North Second Avenue West on the report of a stabbing. 

Officers arrived and learned that staff there had broken up a fight between two individuals that were visiting an office in the basement of the housing complex. A 47 year old male resident had a superficial stab wound to his back. The suspect was identified as Willie Woodfork, a 36 year old, male resident of Duluth. Woodfork had a small pocket knife on him. 
 
The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his non life-threatening injury.
 
Woodfork was transported to the Saint Louis County Jail pending formal charges of 2nd Degree Assault.
