INCIDENT LOCATION: 500 block of North 16th Avenue East
On Saturday, March 31st, 2012 at 11:40PM Duluth Police responded to the 500 block of North 16th Avenue East on the report of a burglary and vehicle theft. The victim reported that someone entered his house, took his keys and stole his vehicle.
The information was broadcast by 911 and a short time later a Duluth Police Officer spotted the stolen car and made a traffic stop at Snively Avenue and Morningside Drive. The suspect was identified as Curtis Fairbanks, a 21 year old male resident of Duluth.
Fairbanks was transported to the Saint Louis County Jail and has been formally charged with 1st Degree Burglary and Motor Vehicle Theft. His bail was set at $8,000, which was posted and he is now released pending trial.
