Boy Struck by Vehicle dies
Duluth Police are investigating a motor vehicle-pedestrian fatality that occurred on Saturday evening and took the life of a 4 year old Duluth boy.
On Saturday, September, 12, 2009 at 8:16 PM, Duluth Police officers were called to 92nd Avenue West and Grand Avenue on the report that child had been struck by a vehicle. Officers found that a 4 year old Duluth boy had been struck by a Ford Explorer that was traveling eastbound on Grand Avenue. Neither speed nor alcohol appears to be contributing factors in the crash at this time.
The boy was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital. At 12:55 PM today, the boy died as a result of his injuries. The boys name is being withheld pending notification of family.
The investigation into the crash continues and no additional details are available. The Duluth Police are looking for anyone who witnessed the crash or may have information related to it. They are asked to call Investigator Ryan Morris at 218-730-5655 or the traffic office at 218-730-5030.
