NATURE OF INCIDENT: Duluth Man Arrested for Damaging and Prowling Vehicles

INCIDENT LOCATION: 21st Avenue West and First Street
On Monday, May 7th, 2012 at 11:33PM Duluth Police officers were handling a separate call in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, when a citizen came up to them and reported a car alarm sounding in the area of 21st Avenue West and First Street. Officers responded to the area and the same citizen reported seeing a male running from that area.
Officers checked the area and with the help of a K-9 located the suspect nearby who was identified as Eric Lund, a 24 year old male, resident of Duluth. Further investigation revealed that six vehicles parked in a lot at 21st Avenue West and First Street had their windows broken out. Officers located a bolt cutter and stolen property in Lund’s possession.
Eric Lund has prior convictions for:
- 2005 Theft of Motor Vehicle-Unauthorized Use (Misdemeanor)
- 2005 Escape from Custody (Misdemeanor)
- 2006 4th Degree Assault on a Peace Officer (Felony)
- 2006 5th Degree Assault (Misdemeanor)
- 2007 Probation Violation
- 2008 Theft of a Motor Vehicle (Felony)
- 2008 DWI (Gross Misdemeanor)
- 2009 Probation Violation
- 2010 Theft of a Motor Vehicle (Felony)
- 2011 Probation Violation
Lund was transported to the Saint Louis County Jail and booked pending formal charges for 1st Degree Criminal Damage to Property, Possession of Burglary Tools, Motor Vehicle Tampering and a Saint Louis County Warrant.
