CASE NO.: 12095055
INCIDENT DATE: 5/28/2012
INCIDENT TIME: 3:24AM
INCIDENT LOCATION: 1100 block 87th Avenue West

On Monday, May 28th, 2012 at 3:24AM Duluth Police were called to the 1100 block of 87th Avenue West on a male suspect that had broken out a kitchen window of the caller’s house with a baseball bat and was in the kitchen. The homeowner was able to keep the suspect in the kitchen area while his wife and two kids were able to get out.

Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody. The suspect is a 52 year old, male resident of Duluth. The suspect said he had just taken methamphetamine a couple hours earlier and believed a mob was chasing him, which was unfounded.  He was taken to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Further investigation revealed that three other residences that were unoccupied in the 1000 block of 86th Avenue West were damaged and had been possibly entered, by the same male suspect. The investigation is continuing.
