NATURE OF INCIDENT: Duluth Man Arrested for Prowling Vehicles

INCIDENT LOCATION: 1st Avenue West and Michigan Street

On Monday, May 28th, 2012 at 10:52PM Duluth Police were called to First Avenue West and Michigan Street to take a report of two vehicle prowls that had occurred.   

At 11:19PM a Duluth Police Officer saw a male suspect on a bike and carrying a bag over his handle.  The officer recognized the person as being a suspect in past vehicle prowls and when he turned his squad to check on him he dropped the bag and pedaled down 2nd Avenue East to Michigan Street where he is taken into custody.  He was identified as Kyle Upton, a 24 year old, male resident of Duluth.  Officers located stolen property in the bag that Upton dropped.
 
Upton was transported to the Saint Louis County Jail and lodged pending formal charges for Felony Possession of Theft Tools, Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Property, 2 counts of 4th Degree Damage to Property (Misdemeanor) and 2 counts of Tampering with a Motor Vehicle (Misdemeanor).
