On Sunday, June 3rd, 2012 at 9:07AM Duluth Police Officers responded to a vehicle prowl at 3rd Avenue East and 3rd Street. The victim had a laptop, I-Pad and other items stolen from his vehicle. The victim left the back window of his vehicle partially open when he parked it and the suspect had reached in and was able to unlock the door.
The victim was able to track his I-Pad to an address in the 100 block of West 4th Street where officers located the suspect who was identified as Nicholas Pincombe, a 26 year old, male resident of Duluth. The renter of the apartment consented to a search where the victim’s items were located. Pincombe later admitted to the theft.
Pincombe was lodged at the Saint Louis County Jail and has been formally charged with 2 counts of Computer Theft, Gross Misdemeanor Theft, Motor Vehicle Tampering. He also had a Violation of Probation Warrant at the time of his arrest.
