During the search of a residence in Superior, WI investigators located two loaded handguns along with a substantial quantity of heroin, drug packaging, and digital scale along with other evidence of heroin sales.  The firearms that were located are a .40 caliber High Point pistol, and a .22 caliber Smith and Wesson pistol.  Both guns were loaded with rounds in the chamber.

 

Calvin was arrested last week in Duluth during the sweep of several heroin dealers.  On Friday June 8th, 2012 bail was set in the amount of $15,000.00 after Calvin was formally charged with 3 counts of 3rd degree sale of heroin.  Calvin made bail on June 8^th, 2012.  Shortly after his release an informant working for the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crimes Task being receiving threats from Calvin.  That incident is still under investigation by the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force.   

 

Calvin is currently in custody in the Douglas County Jail in Superior, WI.  He is lodged there awaiting formal charges of Possession of Heroin with Intent to Deliver and Felon in Possession of Firearms.

 

When Calvin was arrested on June 6^th, 2012 he was accompanied by Demetrius Vershaun Bowen 05/02/91 A.K.A. "Meech".  Bowen was also arrested in last weeks heroin sweep in Duluth.  On June 6^th, 2012 Bowen was arrested on a felony Saint Louis County warrant for violation of probation.  He is also being held in the Douglas County Jail awaiting extradition back to Minnesota on the violation of probation warrant.  At the time of his arrest last week Bowen was already on probation in Saint Louis County for Possession of Cocaine in the Second Degree and Possession of a Pistol without a permit.  

 

During the investigation Calvin and Bowen Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force investigators learned that Calvin and Bowen were working together to sell substantial quantities of heroin in the Twin Ports area.
