INCIDENT LOCATION: Cost Cutters 215 North Central Avenue

On Saturday, June 16th, 2012 at 10:11AM Duluth Police were called to Cost Cutters at 215 North Central Avenue on the report that a white male suspect just came into the business and used the bathroom and came out wearing a tan ski mask and holding a knife. He told the employee’s “don’t act like a hero and give me all of your money” and also said “desperate times call for desperate measures”. He was given an undisclosed amount of money and left the store on foot. 

Initial investigation revealed the suspect to be a Daniel Monroe, a 45 year old male, resident of Duluth. At 11:42AM Duluth Police Officers spotted the suspect driving in the Gary New Duluth neighborhood and they made a felony traffic stop on Gary Street just off of Commonwealth Avenue.
 
Monroe was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Saint Louis County Jail pending formal charges for 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery. The investigation is continuing and no further information is available at this time.
