CASE NO.: 12110243
INCIDENT DATE: 6/17/2012
INCIDENT TIME: 2:00 AM
INCIDENT LOCATION: South Lake Avenue and 11th Street

On Saturday, June 17th, 2012 between approximately 2:00 AM and 2:20 AM, Duluth Police investigated a hit and run crash near South Lake Avenue and 11th Street on Park Point. A 23 year-old Duluth female was struck while crossing the street in this area by an unknown vehicle that left the scene. The victim has suffered a severe leg injury and a possible head injury as a result of the crash. Information gathered at the scene from the victim led officers to stop a white 1955 Chevrolet station wagon that was found driving in the area shortly after the crash. A subsequent investigation has determined that this vehicle was not involved in the crash.

This incident occurred shortly after the Grandma’s Marathon celebration in Canal Park was concluding and there were several people walking and driving in the area around the time of this incident.

Duluth Police Crash Investigators are asking for the public’s help in providing any new information that can help with this investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed this crash or who may have further information about this incident is asked to contact Investigator Ryan Morris at (218) 730-5655.
