Chester Creek Concert Series Finale Features Fish Heads, August 14

The 30th Anniversary celebration of the Chester Creek Concert Series finale is Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 6:30 PM with a special performance by the 'Fish Heads'. This performance was rescheduled due to the flood.

The Fish Heads are Mike Monson and Kim Curtis-Monson. Mike and Kim have been performing bluegrass music and similar genre music for over 30 years separately and 20 years together. They have performed in various other musical groups including Bluegrass Crossing, Elbow Grease, Hawk Ridge Bluegrass Band, Natural'grass, and the Warm Women of the North, the Busters and the Chris Silver Band. Mike and Kim come together making music with beautiful harmonies and both play several instruments including guitar, mandolin, standup bass, banjo and fiddle. Their main circuit is the Duluth, Minnesota areas, but they have performed all over Minnesota and Wisconsin and even some in Canada. Brian Ford has been playing driving bluegrass banjo for over 25 years. He has performed with groups Bluegrass Crossing, Natural'grass as well as the Fish Heads, and is presently working on a tablature book with Pete Wernick of Hot Rize fame. Bruce Bernhardt is a well-rounded mandolin player and joins the group on occasion to produce the percussive sound that they need. Their music is driven by many old rock covers from the 70-80s as well as originals penned by Kim and Brian. They have great vocals and instrumentals and you can be sure that The Fish Heads are the complete package

Members: Kim Curtis-Monson, Mike Monson, Brian Ford and Bruce Bernhardt

Admission is free. Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating, while enjoying the beautiful outdoor setting of Chester Bowl located at 1800 East Skyline Parkway.  Fish Heads will be performing the last concert of the season.
