On Tuesday, September 18th, 2012 at 11:15 PM Duluth Police were called to Little Angie’s Cantina #11 East Buchanan Street on the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.
Initial investigation revealed the suspect entered an office and threatened a female employee with a knife and started grabbing money from a cash drawer. While the suspect was grabbing money, the employee was able to grab the knife out of the suspect’s pocket and yelled at him to leave as she ran out of the office. Squads set up a perimeter and a responding Duluth Police Lieutenant noticed a male matching the suspect’s description look out the rear door of Grizzly’s restaurant at 310 South Lake Avenue and then go back inside as he noticed squads in the area. Officers located the suspect inside the Grizzly’s restaurant and identified him as Rico Burness-El, a 52 year old male, resident of Duluth.
