INCIDENT LOCATION: Central Avenue and Ramsey Street
On Thursday, September 20th, 2012 at 9:37 AM a Duluth Police Lieutenant and Duluth Police Sergeant had just left a “Coffee With A Cop” neighborhood meeting at Beaner’s Café 324 North Central Avenue when a person yelled to them “that guy just broke into a bunch of cars”.
They yelled for the male suspect to stop and he then ran. He was caught quickly by the Lieutenant and Sergeant after a short foot pursuit. The suspect was identified as Justin Rudd, a 29 year old, male resident of Duluth. He was identified by witnesses as having broken into one vehicle and attempting to get in several others. Also, he was witnessed breaking into a nearby storage garage.
Rudd was transported to the Saint Louis County Jail and lodged pending formal charges for 3rd Degree Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, Theft, Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and Fleeing a Police Officer On Foot.
