Let your lights shine and help light up Duluth for the holidays!

Any lighting displays within the Duluth city limits or at a 558 zip code prefix are invited to be in the 2012 Duluth Holiday Lighting contest.

Contestants – individual residences and businesses – will be judged on the best lighting display. Deadline for submission is 5 p.m. Monday, November 16. Lighting display entrants will be announced November 22 in the Duluth News Tribune.

This year a new category allows the public to vote. The “Peoples Choice" award will go to the business or residence that gets the most votes November 22-30. Details on voting will be announced soon.

Other categories will be judged by a panel of reviewers. Final judging in all categories will take place December 1-4. Winners will be announced by Mayor Don Ness and recognized with trophies and prizes at the Bentleyville VIP event Thursday, December 13, at The Inn on Lake Superior.
