Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge Closed to Vessel Traffic
The Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge will be closed to vessel traffic from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 31, 2012. The purpose of the closure is to allow workers to replace an electrical switching assembly located on the bridge.
The Aerial Lift Bridge is fully operational; the electrical switch replacement is being installed to ensure operability of the backup diesel generator, in case of loss of normal power. During the replacement process, normal power must be secured to ensure the safety of electrical personnel replacing the switch.
