Mayor Don Ness will deliver a  “Salvation Army Red Kettle Day” proclamation, and Santa Clause will be skydiving into Bentleyville during the event. November 9th marks the first day of The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle campaign, its largest fundraising effort of the year. 17 area businesses will host Red Kettles and bell ringers November 9th through December 24th.

“Bentleyville has been such a great partner, collecting food and toys for our Christmas outreach, and we’re thrilled to partner with them again this year. The Bentleyville team and Bentleyville visitors brighten the holidays for many of the people we serve.” said Major Bill Cox, who along with his wife Betsy serve as Corps Officers at The Salvation Army, Duluth..

“We’re blessed to be part of a long history of working together with area churches, businesses, service organizations, government agencies, and hundreds of volunteers in serving the Duluth community.  Duluth today is very different than it was when the Salvation Army first came here 120 years ago, but the essence of our work is the same. We’re here to share God’s love and meet the basic human needs of those in our community who need it most.”

The Salvation Army is an international organization, serving 119 countries and 160 language groups.
