Duluth Police have located the vehicle that struck 18 year old Alexander Balluff early Saturday morning. Balluff and three friends were walking south on the shoulder in the 2200 block of Rice Lake Road when he was struck by a newer small black SUV. After striking Balluff, the vehicle left the scene continuing south. Balluff was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center where he remains in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.
Police then asked for the media's and publics assistance in finding the striking vehicle. Calls from alert citizens led police to locating the black 2006 Honda CRV that has been identified as the striking vehicle.
Police continue to investigate the crash and would like to speak with witnesses or anyone with information about it. They are asked to call Crash Investigator Ryan Morris at 218-730-5655. At this time no other details are available.
