On Tuesday, February 5th, 2013 at 3:15 AM the Duluth Police Department and Duluth Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire at Peerless Auto Body, 1718 W 1st Street. Emergency responders arrived to find a large dumpster nearby was actually on fire.

Duluth Police officers were able to follow footprints from the dumpster that led them to a male standing in front of a bar in the 2000 block of West Superior Street. His footwear and the footprints appeared to match. The male suspect was identified as Jeffrey Arnold Carlson, a 26 year old male resident of Superior, Wisconsin.
He was arrested for an outstanding Saint Louis County Warrant for Damage to Property. During the warrant arrest he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and was booked at the Saint Louis County Jail.
