NATURE OF INCIDENT: Duluth Man Stabbed/Suspect Arrested

INCIDENT LOCATION: 1000 block East 3rd Street

On Monday, February 18th, 2013 at 10:12 PM Duluth Police were called to the Duluth Detoxification Center, 1402 East Superior Street for a 43 year old male victim that walked in with a stab wound to his chest. The victim was transported to Saint Luke’s Hospital to treat his serious injury.

Officers checked known addresses associated to the victim and found a blood trail in the blowing and drifting snow which led them to a residence in the 1000 block of East 3rd Street. Officers located three males inside the residence. Follow-up investigation led to the arrest of one of the occupants identified as Kyle McClain, a 43 year old male resident of Duluth. A sword believed to have been used by McClain was found inside the residence and collected as evidence.

The victim remains in the hospital in and is now in stable condition. McClain was transported to the Saint Louis County Jail and booked pending formal charges of 1st Degree Assault.
