On Sunday, March 17th, 2013 at 10:33 AM Duluth Police were called to a burglary in progress at a residence in the 300 block of East 7th Street.
The caller had stopped by his parent’s house, who were not home, went inside and heard voices in the basement and found several items thrown around the house. He went outside to call 911 and not tip off the burglars. An officer arrived and saw two people running from the house carrying duffle bags and after a short foot chase apprehended the one suspect who was identified as Ryan Deoraj, a 22 year old male resident of Duluth.
The second suspect was knocked to the ground briefly by the caller, who recognized him as his cousin, Krzystow Tatarowicz, a 24 year old male, who lives across the street. Tatarowicz got up and ran from the area. Officers found stolen cameras, jewelry and several computers in the two duffle bags that the Deoraj and Tatarowicz ran out of the house with.
Tatarowicz was arrested a short time later at 2nd Ave East & Superior Street.
Deoraj and Tatarowicz were both transported to the Saint Louis County Jail and have been formally charged with 1st Degree Burglary.
