NATURE OF INCIDENT: Duluth Male Arrested for 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery

On Saturday April, 14th, 2012 at 12:53 AM Duluth Police investigated an armed robbery that occurred at an apartment in the 300 block of North Lake Avenue. Two suspects robbed the resident at gunpoint and stole money. During the robbery the gun went off and the shot went into the floor. A 17 year old juvenile male was arrested and charged with Aid and Abet 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery. The other suspect was identified as Solomon Byrd, a 21 year old resident of Duluth. A Felony Arrest Warrant for 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery was issued.

On Saturday, September 1st, 2012 at 11:49 AM Duluth Police spotted Byrd in the 2000 block of West 3rd Street and attempted to arrest him, he had one handcuff on when he broke free and fled on foot. Officers were unable to locate him.

On Tuesday, September 4th, 2012 at 1:57 PM Duluth Police developed information that Byrd was at an apartment in the 200 block of East 2nd Street. As officers were arriving he jumped out of a 1st floor window landing in the parking lot and fled on foot. After this police had information that Byrd had left Duluth and was in another state.
On Tuesday, March 19th, 2013 at 7:39 AM Duluth Police developed information that Byrd was at an address in the 300 block of North 28th Avenue West.  As a Duluth officer was obtaining the search warrant for the address, other officers conducted surveillance and as they began to set up a perimeter Byrd tried to escape again by jumping off a second story deck and he was immediately taken into custody.
He was transported to the Saint Louis County Jail and booked on the Felony Warrant for 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery.
