NATURE OF INCIDENT: Duluth Man Arrested for 3rd Degree Burglary & Lottery Fraud
CASE NO.: 13057561
INCIDENT DATE: 3/27/2013
INCIDENT TIME: 5:24 AM
INCIDENT LOCATION: Cenex Gas Stations/1301 E. 9th St. & 5402 E. Superior Street

On Wednesday, March 27th, 2013 at 5:24 AM Duluth Police responded on a security alarm at the Cenex Gas Station at 1301 East 9th Street.

Initial investigation revealed that the business had been burglarized. The front doors of the gas station were forced open and numerous lottery tickets and cigarettes were stolen. The owner had an image of a suspect captured by a surveillance camera.
At 12:45 PM Duluth Police were called to another Cenex gas station at 5402 East Superior Street. The clerk there called and said a suspect matching the description from the earlier Cenex gas station burglary was there attempting to redeem a stolen lottery ticket.   Officers arrived and arrested Tyler Bennett, a 21 year old resident of Duluth. Two other people who were with Bennett at the Cenex station were detained and then released after officers determined Bennett was alone responsible for the burglary.
Tyler Bennett was transported to the Saint Louis County jail for Felony 3rd Degree Burglary and Felony Lottery Fraud.
