On Friday, March 29th, 2013 at 2:20PM PM the Duluth Police Department and Lake Superior Drug & Violent Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at the Last Place On Earth, 120 East Superior Street.

For the last 2 years problems with synthetic drugs and the behaviors around the Last Place on Earth in Downtown Duluth has been a major concern for our citizens, business community and the police department.  It has had a devastating impact on the surrounding businesses and the perception of Old Downtown.  In addition, we have seen a big increase in the number of police calls around the business and for incidents involving those using synthetic drugs.  We will remain focused on this ever evolving nuisance until the problem is eradicated.
Both James Carlson and Joseph Gellerman were transported to the Saint Louis County Jail and each booked for (3) Counts of 4th Degree Sale of Controlled Substance. Charges related to the execution of the search warrant are pending.
