NATURE OF INCIDENT: Police Seek Public's Help locating Duluth Man with Felony Warrants

INCIDENT LOCATION: 400 block of North 51st Avenue West
On Wednesday, March 27th, 2013 at 4:44 PM Duluth Police Officers and the Lake Superior Drug & Violent Crime Task Force were conducting surveillance at a residence in the 400 block of North 51st Avenue West just prior to executing a search warrant.
A male showed up at the residence that investigator’s recognized as Ryan Birk, a 31 year old male resident of Duluth, who is a known thief and drug dealer. Investigators knew Birk had an active Felony Warrant out of Douglas County Wisconsin. A Duluth officer and Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) trooper attempted to stop Birk when he left the area in his vehicle. Birk fled northbound on Central Avenue and after a short vehicle pursuit by MSP the pursuit was terminated and Birk was not located.
The Duluth Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Ryan Birk. Along with the Felony Warrant out of Douglas County, Birk now has Saint Louis County Felony Warrants for Fleeing Police in a Motor Vehicle and 3rd Degree Burglary. If anyone has any information has seen or knows the whereabouts of Ryan Birk they are asked to call 911.

2005-5th Degree Possession of Methamphetamine
2007-Felony Theft
2007-Gross Misdemeanors Financial Transaction Fraud
2007-1st Degree Sale of Methamphetamine
2007-Felony Receiving Stolen Property
2007-Felony Theft & Tampering with a Motor Vehicle
2008-Felony Fleeing Police in a Motor Vehicle
2009-2 counts of Misdemeanor Theft
2010-Tampering with a Motor Vehicle & Receiving Stolen Property (both Misdemeanors)
