INCIDENT LOCATION: 1600 block East 4th Street
On Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013 at 1:06 AM Duluth Police officers and investigators with the Lake Superior Drug & Violent Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1600 block of East 4th Street. The Duluth Police Tactical Response Team was used for entry. This warrant was in relation to an on-going marijuana trafficking investigation.
During the search warrant investigators seized a quantity of marijuana packaged for sale, a digital scale, packaging and other evidence of drug distribution, U.S. currency, a fully loaded 12 gauge shotgun with a round in the chamber and two loaded .40 caliber pistols.
The following were arrested:
- Walter Verneil Guthrie, a 45 year old male resident of Duluth - Arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and 5th Degree Sale of Marijuana (Guthrie is currently on probation for 1st Degree Sale of Crack Cocaine)
- Robert Lee Gurney, a 24 year old male resident of Duluth - Arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and 5th Degree Sale of Marijuana and Child Endangerment (Gurney is currently on probation for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and has previous convictions for 1st Degree Assault and Domestic Assault)
- Roberta Kay Williams, a 43 year old female resident of Duluth - Arrested for 5th Degree Sale of Marijuana, 5th Degree Possession of Marijuana and Child Endangerment
All were transported to the Saint Louis County Jail and have been formally charged.
