NATURE OF INCIDENT: Shooting Update

INCIDENT DATE: 6/6/2013
INCIDENT TIME: 3:28 PM
INCIDENT LOCATION: 200 block East 6th Street

On Thursday, June 6th, 2013 at 3:28 PM Duluth Police were called to the report of a shooting that occurred at a residence in the 200 block of East 6th Street.

Officers arrived and found a 48 year old female resident with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. She was transported to Essentia St. Mary’s hospital for her injury and she is now listed in stable condition.
Officers located the suspect, a 70 year old male resident outside and he was taken into custody. The victim and suspect were both known to each other.
This is an active investigation. No further information is available at this time. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Duluth Police Department Violent Crimes Unit at (218) 730-5050. 
UPDATE:
The victim has been identified as Betty Jean Grigsby, a 48 year old female. She remains at St. Mary’s hospital in stable condition.
The suspect has been identified as Helge (no middle name) Rohm, a 70 year old male. He was arrested and transported to the Saint Louis County Jail for 2nd Degree Attempted Murder and 2nd Degree Assault. Formal charges are expected next week.
