NATURE OF INCIDENT: Duluth Man Arrested for Multiple Burglaries

On Saturday July 6th, 2013 Duluth Police took a burglary report from a residence in the 1400 block of Page Street. The residents discovered that suspects had forced entry into the residence when it was unoccupied. Entry was made through a window and jewelry was stolen. 

On Thursday, July 11th, 2013 Duluth Police took a burglary report in the 3800 block of East 4th Street. The resident found that someone forced entry into the residence when it was unoccupied and stole and handgun, shotgun and other property.
On Friday, July 12th, 2013 Duluth Police took a burglary report in the 1800 block of Wallace Avenue. The resident found that someone entered his garage and stole his 2009 Toyota Corolla. The vehicle was recovered by Duluth Police later that day in the 400 block of Stroll Avenue. 
On Wednesday, July 17th, 2013 Duluth Police took burglary reports at residences in the 900 block of Valley Drive, a different residence in the 3800 block of East 4th Street and one in the 400 block of Lakeview Drive. The residents found that someone had forced entry into their homes when they were unoccupied, stealing jewelry and money.
Duluth Police officers and investigators from the Property Crimes and Crime Scene Units through follow-up investigation identified a suspect, Justin Frederick Renick, a 24 year old male resident of Duluth. On July 19th, 2013 investigators obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s house in the 400 block of North Blackman Avenue. Many of the items stolen in the burglaries were located during the execution of the search warrant to include the stolen handgun and shotgun. Other evidence of the crimes we’re also located there. Justin Renick was taken into custody and admitted to burglarizing three houses on July 17th, one of the houses in the 3800 block of East 4th Street on July 11th and the Page Street address on July 6th. He also admitted to burglarizing the garage on Wallace Avenue and stealing the car. 
Justin Renick was transported to the Saint Louis County Jail for 4 counts of 2nd Degree Burglary, one count of 3rd Degree Burglary and Auto Theft. If anyone has any information about these incidents they are asked to contact the Duluth Police Department Property Crimes Unit at (218) 730-5160.
