City of Duluth Unveils Enhanced On-Street Parking System for Canal Park Drive

The City of Duluth has reconfigured the on-street parking system on Canal Park Drive to improve the customer experience. Until now, the pay stations printed a receipt that was required to be displayed on each parker’s dashboard. Under the new system, the pay stations still print a receipt for every transaction, but customers no longer need to return to their vehicles or display anything on the dashboard. Instead, they simply input their parking space number at any of the four pay stations and then make payment to complete the transaction. The pay stations accept nickels, dimes, quarters, dollar coins, $1 bills, and Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit and debit cards.

This new configuration of Canal Park Drive is identical to the on-street parking system already in place in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

The parking fee and time limit are unchanged. The fee for the maximum allowable parking stay of 2 hours remains $1.50 per space.
