INCIDENT LOCATION: Duluth, MN
On Sunday, August 4th, 2013 Duluth Police responded to Essentia St. Mary’s hospital at 8:12 PM and again at 9:08 PM for two separate victims with gunshot wounds who had both been transported there by private vehicle. The first was a 20 year old male resident of Duluth who had a single gunshot wound to his hand who reported it occurred outside in the 400 block of E. 6th Street. The second was a 24 year old male resident of Duluth who had a single gunshot wound to his chest that was reported to have occurred outside at Pecan Avenue & Upham Road. Both victims had non-life threatening injuries and were treated and released from the hospital.
The incidents may be related, but we are unable to determine the relationship between the victims and suspects at this time. Investigators from the Major Crimes Division are following several leads. If anyone has information about these incidents they are asked to call the Duluth Police Department Violent Crimes Unit at 218-730-5050. These are active investigations and no further information is available at this time.
